What happens when you capture
The extension reads the current tab’s URL when you open it. It sends that URL to Tweex only when you click “Save”, together with the Context you choose or the name of the Context you create. It does not read the page’s DOM, form fields, passwords, cookies, other tabs or your browsing history.
Tweex’s server retrieves the content available at the saved URL and processes it for your Library, search and Contexts. The extension cannot bypass a paywall or retrieve content that requires your browser’s private session. A saved link does not guarantee that its full content can be extracted. Avoid saving URLs containing private access tokens or confidential query parameters.
Connection and local storage
A random installation identifier and secret are stored locally in this browser to connect the extension to your Tweex account using a short-lived code. The secret is sent to Tweex over HTTPS; the server stores its hash. These credentials are not synced by this extension. Your Context names are fetched from Tweex to display the picker. Only the latest capture’s URL, destination and outcome are kept in browser session memory so reopening the popup can show its status.
Permissions
activeTab: read the URL of the tab you explicitly choose. storage: keep your connection and the latest capture status. www.tweexai.com: connect to Tweex, list Contexts, save references and add them to Contexts. No access to all websites, history, cookies or background browsing is requested.
Processing and service providers
Tweex uses Vercel to serve requests and Supabase to store account and Library data. Saved content may be processed by OpenAI for extraction, indexing and retrieval. Tweex also contacts the saved page’s publisher and, where applicable, the source platform to retrieve available content. Normal service requests expose network information, such as IP addresses, to the receiving service. The extension includes no advertising or analytics SDK and downloads no remote executable code.
Your controls
You decide what to capture. You can remove saved references and Contexts inside Tweex. Removing the extension clears its browser storage but does not delete your Tweex Library or account. For support and data requests, use the developer contact provided on Tweex’s Chrome Web Store listing.
Limited Use
The use of information received through this extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used to provide and secure the capture and Context features, not sold or used for personalized advertising.
